Hopefully, as a USD 259 parent, you are already aware of the budget crisis our district faces during this upcoming school year.
In case you haven’t heard, cuts in state funding for public schools have caused USD 259 to face $25 million in budget reductions for the 2010-2011 school year. While the BOE was tasked with a similar situation for the 2009-2010 school year, they did their best to make cuts with as little impact to classroom and staff positions as possible. Unfortunately, this time, it’s going to really hurt…everyone.

Now is the time to gather those Box Tops you’ve got laying around at home and send them to school with your student. You all have done a wonderful job of collecting those Box Tops this year. So far our school has submitted over $200 worth!
The staff and students at Val Jackson Elementary welcome you to spend time in the school. Whether it be five minutes or five hours, the amount of time you volunteer is determined strictly by what your schedule permits. Please consider the many opportunities to volunteer and complete the form on the following page.
